Flaming Apes Head are a 3 piece alternative rock band based in Liverpool and Leeds playing a blend of up-beat funky punk and full on metal/grunge.
With songs ranging from 90 second punk to 4 minute riff packed rock, and lyrics ranging from the poetic to the absurd, they offer an original and diverse set.

Flaming Apes Head are gigging regularly in Liverpool and Leeds, and have been compared to The Pixies, Dead Kennedys, Devo, McClusky, Sonic Youth and No Means No.

They have received airplay on Roger Hill's PMS show on Radio Merseyside, as well as on Dave Monks' show on Merseyside's 106.7FM. Their tracks have also featured on numerous internet radio stations such as Amoeba Goo Radio, and Green Dragon.

Flaming Ape's Head have also won various web based awards including "Liverpool's Unsigned Band of the Month" from BBC.co.uk, and "Band of the Month" and "Website of the Week" from bandsunsigned.co.uk.

One of their live favourites "Extinct Vikings", is also featured on Liverpool label "Smelly Baby's" 1st EP, which can be bought from the official Smelly Baby website.
